Slovenian Nature

A paradise for nature lovers

Lake Bled

Lake Bled is undoubtedly Slovenia's most iconic site. With its island in the middle and picturesque church, it's a magical place. Bled Castle, perched on a 130-meter cliff, offers spectacular views. You can walk around the lake (6 km), rent a traditional "pletna" boat or even swim in summer in its crystal-clear waters.

Lake Bohinj

Less known but equally beautiful, Lake Bohinj is Slovenia's largest natural lake. Located in Triglav National Park, it offers a wilder and more peaceful atmosphere than Bled. It's the ideal starting point for mountain hikes, kayaking or simply enjoying pristine nature.

Postojna Caves

Postojna Caves are among the largest karst caves in the world, with 24 km of galleries. You can explore this fascinating underground world by small train then on foot. Stalactites and stalagmites create extraordinary formations. It's also home to the olm, a unique amphibian that can live up to 100 years!

Predjama Castle

A few kilometers from Postojna is Predjama Castle, a Renaissance castle built in a cave at 123 meters height. It's the largest cave castle in the world! It was the refuge of the rebel knight Erasmus of Predjama in the 15th century. The cave beneath the castle hides secret passages.

Triglav National Park

Slovenia's only national park is named after Mount Triglav (2864m), the country's highest peak. The park covers 4% of Slovenian territory and hosts exceptional biodiversity: brown bears, lynx, chamois and golden eagles. Glacial valleys, waterfalls (like Savica Falls) and alpine lakes make it a hiker's paradise.
